How to Add Google Reader to Your iPad or iPhone

by heirtoblair on October 5, 2012

I don’t know about you, but I love blogs. I read roughly 100 blogs, ranging from friends to folks who don’t know I exist, from parenting to faith to do-it-yourself. So hi, I’m Beth Anne & I’m a blog-aholic.

I keep them all organized in my Google Reader, where I read them every morning over a cup of coffee or while I nom on a sandwich at lunch. I’m usually on my desktop computer, but lately I find myself reading blogs on my phone or iPad. I looked for a good “reader” app & couldn’t find one, but soon realized that I could bookmark my reader to my home screen, almost creating my own app.

I am currently using BlogLovin as a reader and I find that sometimes they “loose” blogs that I follow, or all of the sudden, ten new posts all pop up at once. Does this happen with Google reader?

Not at all! I’ve never had that problem with Google Reader (the only time a blog will pop up like, 10 posts that I’ve already read is when they are moving their blog to a different platform. So very rare).

I’m also a Google Reader addict — I highly recommend the Newsify app. It’s free, it syncs with Google Reader, it works on iPhone and iPad, and it’s pretty… as is your new abode on the interwebs! Mazel tov!

Try flip board. It’s free and awesome. It makes blogs look like a magazine.

I love flipboard too. I’m a new addict, so in addition to my social media stuff & google reader I have all sorts of topics set up to pull articles. It’s so easy to get caught up on things using flipboard, and is my “go go” when I am bored and just want to look around the internet at stuff. Now if they would just get pinterest set up on it!

I second FlipBoard. I have my google reader, twitter, Instagram and Facebook feeds in it. Super convenient having one app that I can browse all my feeds from.

Awesome!! I love simple silly things that blow my mind. And your new site magically went into my reader all by itself, so that’s cool too!!

Ahh…another way to ignore my family. Sweet.

But in all honesty…this is bloody brilliant. Thanks for the heads up.

I use g-whizz! app and it’s free with some ads but all in all I really like it. I think this idea is probably better though.

While this is great, a local App would be a much better choice. I use Ziner for iPad. Much better user experience.
