It’s been kind of a crazy week.
We use the word crazy around here still 
We began cloth diapering, which has so far turned out to be a hilarious adventure. Doug likes it just as much as I do (that fluffy butt on Harrison is irresistible), but he did leak last night. So tonight we tripled it up & he’s so fluffy in front that he can’t even sleep on his tummy. Which means that we stand by his crib & snicker for a good ten minutes at night. It warms my heart.
Today was an okay day. It was Harpie’s due date, & “Harpie dates” always feel bittersweet to me. But I just stuck my foot in a dried glob of Harrison vom & for some reason, it made me smile. (I will also be pulling out our little carpet steamer after I finish writing this). I still have my job, my family, & my health & so today is a good day & there is so much to be thankful for, no matter what the calendar says today or what I felt earlier this week.
I’m thankful for…
1. Dreaming big with my husband about work sheds, offices, & room to stretch our legs.
2. Erasable colored pencils in a tin cup on my desk.
3. Walks in the sunshine with clients rather than sitting at a conference table.
4. Fluffy butts that are just so darn cute. & husbands that look forward to it just as well.
5. Calculaters. So underappreciated. Because of calculaters, I don’t have to do actual math in my head or on paper. GLORIOUS.
6. Hot chocolate, even when it’s hot outside.
7. Harpie, I love you still. For all the good that has happened because of your sweet little life, for the little boy sucking his thumb in the other room, & for the knowledge that one day, I’ll know you. Happy due date, baby.

I had a miscarriage in July 08. My daughter, Harper, was born in Oct. of 2009. This post got me choked up. Happy due date. Happy Harrison too!
I think my baby would just scream all night if he couldn't sleep on his belly. He now sleeps in a fitted (BabyKicks Organic Fitted) with an extra insert and a cover. This was finally the solution we found to end nighttime leaks. We tried so many different combination!
I hear ya on the fluffy butts! I finally got enough Bumgenius diapers to not have to supplement with disposables while washing. Do you have one of those toilet sprayer things? Saves. my. life!!!

My overnights? Thirsties Duo Diaper OR Blueberry OS. they rock. I have never had a leak overnight and she can sleep on her belly.
May I please put something out that is totally over the line, inappropriate, and gently suggested by someone who's been there (8 years ago, but been there). Is there a teeny, tiny possibility that something about losing Harpie is still affecting you in a way that might be between you and Harrison, you and happiness? I say this because I had a lot of feelings when my daughter was born… and my miscarriage was 8 years PRIOR! So your being so much more recent.. I dunno. Maybe there's a little piece there that might be worth turning over, in case it plays a part in what you're going through.
I hope I didn't overstep, since we don't know each other, and a lot gets lost in translation… but if we were having coffee together you'd see a lot of gentle concern and care on my face, I promise.
Oh – and biosoft diaper liners. Do not cloth w/o 'em, lol.

I am thankful for 2 glasses of wine, 2 sleeping children and a great day home by myself with both boys, and NO drama. we even went to the zoo.

yes, i remember Harpie's due date. because you were due 5 days after me, and that is how i first met you/started following you. he/she will always be remembered.
Just think Harpie was God's angel that came to give you a kiss and get you ready for your sweet Harrison!
Our boys will always have a "wing man" looking after them!
Now relax, drink your hot chocolate and have sweet dreams about your baby boy who hopefully will not be PEEING everywhere tonight!

Just a thought Blair. We also cloth diaper like I told you yesterday. We have found that using the Bum Genius OS pocket diapers at night work best for us since at the lining doesn't come all the way to the top of the front of the diaper (if Harry is leaking out the top) We also have Fuzzi buns and Happy Heinys that look like the other ones that were in your basket picture and we seem to have a little more problems with these since our baby sleeps 12 hours straight. I know that you can also buy Hemp inserts that are supposed to hold more and I believe they are thinner, so maybe try two of those at night. Just some thoughts. I hope you find what works for you and Harry.
Remember that God gave YOU both Harpie and Harrison for a reason and God never makes a mistake. There is a reason that you are their mother no matter how down you may feel at times. I hope that you find the inner peace that you are searching for.
Sweetie, just wanted to say that I'm thinking of you tonight, and hoping that the day, while bittersweet, has been a good one.
I had a miscarriage in March and I often worry that I will forget. It's nice to know that even in another year or so, I will still remember "Poppy". My husband always talks about meeting our baby one day, so it touched
me to see you say the same.

Ah, Blair…I remember the days on the Bump Boards and Harpie. I am still so sorry for your loss. You are the very definition of strength and perserverence.
